BACnet/SC in Practice – Understanding and Applying Certificates

BACnet/SC in practice: Understanding certifications, integrating devices and building secure networks – a hands-on, step-by-step approach.

BACnet/SC stands for secure communication in building automation – but in practice it often leads to uncertainty, particularly when it comes to certificates.
In this advanced seminar, our trainers from SE and MBS tackle precisely these challenges. As part of a first-time collaboration, two trainers combine their expertise from real-world projects and extensive training experience.
The result: a practical format from which participants clearly benefit from this dual wealth of experience.

Why take part?

This seminar is aimed at anyone who not only wants to understand BACnet/SC but also wants to be able to use it confidently.

After that day:

  • Certificates are no longer a cause for concern
  • Do you know how secure BACnet/SC networks are set up?
  • you can integrate and test devices with confidence
  • Gain confidence in real-world projects and future requirements

The focus is clearly on practical application, implementation and sharing experiences – not on dry theory.

What you will learn

Fundamentals and Architecture of BACnet/SC

  • Transition from BACnet/IP to BACnet/SC
  • Security mechanisms and regulatory requirements
  • Creation and management of CA certificates
  • Integration of different types of devices:
    • native BACnet/SC-Geräte
    • BACnet/IP and MS/TP devices via routers
    • Modbus devices (mapping to BACnet and integration into the BACnet/SC network)
  • Joint network test:
all devices are visible, connected and able to communicate

Who this training is suitable for
