The SE Cloud—formerly known as Virtual Control Technology (VLTech)—is a data acquisition and data management system based on the BACnet and TCP/IP communication standards. Developed by SE-Elektronic, it takes the control and monitoring of building and plant conditions into a new, digital dimension.
Instead of storing data exclusively locally on the operator’s computer, device statuses and operating data are transmitted to an external security server in real time. Trend data is queried cyclically from the device and stored in the SE Cloud for up to two years – as an extension of the local storage.
This structure has two key advantages: security and backup requirements are handled centrally, while also allowing access from anywhere—using any browser, from almost any device (except smartphones), and at any time.
This is how the “virtualization” of control technology is becoming a reality: manufacturers, service companies, and operators can not only monitor their systems, but also analyze, optimize, and actively manage them—without being physically on site.
The SE-Cloud serves as a central interface between your systems and the digital world.
Every system – whether existing or newly installed – can be connected with minimal effort. All relevant data points, fault messages, trend data, and user configurations are transmitted directly to the cloud via a BACnet connection.
The captured data is analyzed and stored there and can be accessed according to individual permissions.
Service companies access the systems via the Direct Connect Client* to make adjustments or install updates.
End customers, on the other hand, use browser-based access to view operating data, analyze usage, or receive notifications about malfunctions.
This interaction creates transparency, efficiency, and security—regardless of location.
*The tool enables direct remote access to SE devices via the SE-Cloud. Technicians and service partners can connect securely, adjust system parameters, update programs, or troubleshoot faults—just as if they were on site.
Data on temperatures, usage, and conditions.
Integrate new and existing systems quickly and easily.
Immediate notification of faults via email or text message.
Up to 2 years of history.
Highest IT standards.
Individual access rights.
Digital solutions are shaping today’s working world – and SE-Elektronic is going one step further: With the SE-Cloud, the company is introducing the next generation of proven virtual control technology. The platform combines a modern interface, the latest security standards, future-proof technology, and seamless BACnet integration.
The operation remains familiar: anyone who has already worked with virtual control technology will immediately feel at home. At the same time, the SE-Cloud opens up new possibilities for flexibly integrating functions and individual customizations. This means that the familiar operating logic is retained, while performance is significantly increased.
Your advantage: You benefit from the stability of a proven solution—now in a modern, cloud-based format.
In principle, any system can be connected to the virtual control technology, provided that it communicates via BACnet or is equipped with an SE-E-DDC. In addition, a number of technical requirements must be met:
SE-Elektronic systems:
New systems from E-DDC version 3.2 (firmware ≥ 3.03.08) and existing systems via gateway GW-BC-SE can be connected directly. BACnet objects are uploaded automatically; additional services are generally not necessary (as long as the project is designed for a cloud system).
Perfectly networked with SE-Tools
The SE-Cloud is the ideal complement to ixWork, ixPert, and WebEditor. While the cloud provides central access to data and projects, the tools ensure efficient planning, programming, and visualization—seamlessly, transparently, and consistently.
The SE Cloud is aimed at two main groups:
On the one hand, to system partners who want to offer their customers a modern, secure, and scalable solution for plant monitoring—with maximum stability, security, and compatibility, for example through BACnet integration.
On the other hand, it is aimed at end customers and operators who value transparency and efficiency in ongoing operations. With the SE-Cloud, they can keep an eye on the status and performance of their systems at all times—across locations, in real time, and without the need for complex IT infrastructure.
The technical requirements are minimal: a DDC with network access or a router with an LTE module and an Internet-enabled device with a browser are all you need.
A transparent billing model per system and month ensures clear cost structures and maximum scalability—regardless of the size or complexity of the project.
The SE-Cloud is also a real tool of the future for system partners.
Remote maintenance allows systems to be serviced efficiently—without travel or waiting times.
Technician access allows project configurations to be adjusted, SE devices to be accessed in the local network, and updates to be installed centrally.
This not only reduces service costs, but also administrative effort. The SE-Cloud thus becomes a platform that supports the entire life cycle of a system—from setup and operation to maintenance.
Digitize your asset monitoring—easily, securely, and scalably.
