We are very pleased to share an important update within our organization:
Our long‑time colleague Salvatore Tropea has been appointed as the new R&D Director Controls at SE.
This step marks not only a significant milestone in Salvatore’s career, but also an important moment for our entire Controls organization. His journey within SE — now spanning 18 years — is a remarkable example of continuous growth, dedication, and the ability to turn challenges into opportunities.
Salvatore began his career with us in Assembly — a place where understanding our products at the most fundamental level begins. Over the years, he advanced through several key areas including Support, Development, and Technology & Tools. With every step, he broadened his expertise, strengthened his technical capabilities, and made lasting contributions to our innovation efforts.
Throughout his development, Salvatore became one of SE’s strongest internal references in BACnet and related technologies. Many teams across the company rely on his deep knowledge, his structured analytical approach, and his ability to make complex topics easy to understand.
What truly sets Salvatore apart is his forward‑thinking mindset. He consistently brings new ideas, questions existing approaches, and actively drives improvements across our solutions, processes, and technologies. His innovative spirit has already shaped many positive developments — and we are confident that even more impactful contributions lie ahead.
As Salvatore reflects on this new chapter in his career, he emphasizes how formative his 18 years at SE have been — not only professionally, but personally. One statement he shared captures this spirit perfectly:
“There is a reason why the rear‑view mirror is smaller than the windshield — because what lies ahead is more important than what lies behind.”
As the new R&D Director Controls at SE, Salvatore will continue to build on this strong foundation. His technical depth, leadership mindset, and strategic vision will help us accelerate innovation and strengthen SE’s position in an increasingly competitive and dynamic market environment.
We are proud to see Salvatore step into this role and are excited for the fresh perspectives and future‑focused thinking he will bring.
Congratulations, Salva — this next step is truly well deserved.
We look forward to shaping the future of Controls together.
